Pirelli Tires, P6 Four Seasons, PZero Nero M&S, P400 Touring
According to Guy Mannino, President and CEO Pirelli Tire of North America (PTNA), "MIRS is one of the four pillars upon which we are 'Building a Foundation' for a prosperous new Pirelli organization in North America. The other three pillars are Original Equipment (OE), Brand and New Products." New Products and Original Equipment go mano a mano, and the introduction of several new products has opened up new opportunities for Pirelli to service the North American-based auto manufacturers. The P6 Four Seasons represents the first of several new breakthrough products for Pirelli in the highly demanding OE market. Pirelli is also at the forefront of the development of high-performance radials for the fastest growing segment of the U.S. tire market-today's truck and SUV fitments-with Scorpion STR and Scorpion Zero radials. In March of 2003 journalists from around the world joined Pirelli at the Pirelli-sponsored Road Atlanta road racing circuit for the introduction of four new high performance radials: P Zero Corsa, P Zero Nero M + S, Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico and Scorpion STR. At the annual North American International Auto Show Eighty percent of the Pirelli Tires on display at Detroit were either the high-performance P Zero range or Eufori@, Pirelli’s Run Flat performance tire. Clearly, this confirms the leading edge role Pirelli is playing in OE. Ultra-High-Performance tires and Run Flat tires are the fastest growing segments in a rapidly changing business as cars and SUV’s get more powerful and more user-friendly. Pirelli Tire North America specializes in the manufacture and marketing of high performance car, light truck and motorcycle tires and currently has four of its highly advanced MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) modules in operation in its newest automated production facility in Rome, Georgia, to better serve the American OEM and Replacement markets. Pirelli's advanced technology is finding an increasingly appreciative audience among car makers and not just the traditional European performance car manufacturers. Classic American marques such as Ford, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Dodge were among Pirelli’s Detroit Show clients, each with their own interpretation of high performance motoring; in Cadillac’s case, adding Run Flat convenience to the performance equation. Of course, Pirelli Tire is not willing to forsake its “super car” image. Showcase models from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Aston Martin were also on hand to remind everyone that when it comes to the top of the top, there is only one choice: P Zero.
